Missoula Children's Theatre returns to South Lake Tahoe for the 39th time

For the past 38 years, Missoula Children's Theatre has been coming to South Lake Tahoe, transforming youth into actors and actresses in just a few days.

This year the production is Alice in Wonderland.

Auditions will be held on Monday, July 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at South Tahoe Middles School's multi-purpose room (STMS MPR). Approximately 50-60 local children will be cast to appear in the show.

No experience or advance preparation is necessary. This is a group audition. Students should just be ready to come and have a good time. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play.

All students entering first grade through twelfth grade are eligible (must be five-years-old age and have completed kindergarten). Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire two-hour session.

The first rehearsal begins approximately 30 minutes after the audition, depending on the role. It is free to audition but there is a fee of $50 for those selected. A limited number of scholarships are available. Call Peggy Blowney at 530-542-3632 for more information.

Rehearsals will be conducted every day from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., depending on role, at STMS MPR. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role and be available for all scheduled performances.

Those not free all week are asked to not audition. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. Cast members scheduled for the full 4.5 hours will be asked to bring a sack lunch or snack to be eaten during the break between sessions.

The performances will be held on Friday, July 14 at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the STMS MPR. The cast will be called for dress rehearsal at 11:00 a.m.

Admission is Adults $10/Children $5. Tickets will be available at the door.
