Lake Tahoe forecast: Wind Advisory to start the week, 80's by the end

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A low pressure system moving across the Pacific Northwest will bring gusty winds Monday. A Lake Wind Advisory is in place Monday from noon to 10:00 p.m. Southwest winds will be from 10-20 mph with gusts 35 mph expected. Waves on Lake Tahoe could reach 2 to 3 feet.

A notable warmup begins later in the week and through next weekend. There is a chance of a few thunderstorms possible near the eastern Sierra as a weak area of low pressure off the southern California coast is shown trying to lift north Sunday. This could provide better forcing for increased thunderstorm coverage from roughly Reno south along the Sierra late Sunday afternoon into the evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.
