A 23-year-old Cameron Park man is behind bars again on felony child molestation charges.
Deputies from the El Dorado Sheriff's Office (EDS)) arrested Robert Lee Edmonds on June 15 after several minors were identified as his victims.
Edmonds was originally arrested on April 27 after deputies received a report of his having an inappropirate relationship with a minor child. EDSO officers and detectives, suspecting more victims, began an investigation. They reached out to the community through news and social media outlets, and became aware of more minor victims, some as young as middle school age, through the public's assistance and phone tips.
Edmonds is currently in the custody of the El Dorado County Jail with bail set at $5.5 million according to an EDSO press release.
"Sheriff John D’Agostini and all members of the Sheriff’s Office are committed to total enforcement on sexual predators and those who wish to victimize members of our community," said Detective Sgt. Dan Johnson. "Anyone with additional information about this investigation is encouraged to contact Detective Anthony Prencipe at (530) 642-4709, reference case EG16-3722."
