Lakeview Social opens in South Lake Tahoe; Ribbon cutting July 1

UPDATE: The ribbon-cutting has been moved to Friday, July 1, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Another new venture from local businessman Luca Genasci and his team is now open on the corner of Harrison Avenue and San Jose Avenue in South Lake Tahoe. Lakeview Social was created to be about community, relaxing with friends and family, sitting back, and relaxing.

Lakeview Social will officially open with a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, July 23, but all features it will become well known for are now open and welcoming guests. What used to be Revive Coffee and South Tahoe Stand Up Paddle is now reimagined into a multi-faceted indoor and outdoor space with a food truck, beer wagon, five gas firepits, and comfortable seating with rocking chairs and picnic tables, and a new stage.

Genasci bought the property and has created a spot for all ages to enjoy while leaving the popular Revive Coffee and the backyard wedding garden and tent. There are already 50-60 weddings and events planned for the space, many of which were postponed due to the pandemic.

Mike Peron, the director of sales and marketing for Tahoe Lifestyle & Leisure, LLC, the hospitality company that oversees Genasci's properties, said the old property has been given new life with Lakeview Social. They've added new outside lighting to go with the new food and drink features, free wifi, and daily music on the stage from noon to 9 p.m. on weekends, afternoons, and evenings during the week.

The team used locals as contractors, and landscapers, for logo wear, printed materials, and Peron says they will always use locals when available, highlighting the importance of "keeping it local."

The food truck offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The new corner hotspot is open Sunday-Thursday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday-Saturday 7 a.m to 10 p.m. Ordering food is done with your smartphone with a text message received when your order is up - contactless and cashless (though the green will be accepted).

Lakeview Social will also be the Live at Lakeview after-party when the Thursday night concerts end at nearby Lakeview Commons.

"We are catering to everyone," said Peron of Lakeview Social. Even the four-legged family members are welcome and there will be a series of bike racks set up.

The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for Friday, July 1 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. where everyone can join in a free toast. Genasci just celebrated the opening of The Bistro at the Crossing at Tahoe Valley adjacent to his AleWorX and Cocktail Corner. He also added the Lake House to his family of businesses and work is being done adding covered outdoor seating to the SR89 business near the Y. Other new ventures will soon be announced.
