Douglas County commissioners meeting to include vote on 4th of July Beer Garden at Zephyr Cove,

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - The next meeting of the Douglas County commissioners will be on Thursday, June 29 at 10 a.m. in the courthouse, 1616 Eighth Street in Minden. The meeting will also be available remotely.

On the agenda:

For possible action. Discussion on conditional approval of an Outdoor Festival Permit application for the Beer Garden-4th of July Celebration-Zephyr Cove, to be held July 4-6, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Zephyr Cove Resort, subject to stated conditions/comments by the reviewing departments.

Staff is recommending the installation of a temporary fence line that runs along the entire Eastern boundary starting at the Southeast point of the
Skyland neighborhood and ending at the Warrior Way intersection. They want it installed before the July 4th weekend and remain in place until Labor Day 2024.

According to the resort's application, 2000 tickets for the beer garden, located at the volleyball courts, are expected to be sold. A DJ will be providing music for the three-day event. Aramark will be contracting with 30-40 security officers and Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputies and USFS law enforcement personnel will also be onsite, according to their agreement.

There is room for 450 vehicles to be parked at the resort.

Also possible action: Discussion on one appointment to the Library Board of Trustees to serve the remaining unexpired term of a Trustee who resigned (June 20, 2024, through December 31, 2027) in adherence with NRS Chapter 379.

For possible action. Discussion to accept the donation of a scoreboard for Field #1 at Lampe Park with a value of $17,560 from Carson Valley Little League.

For possible action. Discussion and canvass of returns from the June 11, 2024, Primary Election including the entering an abstract of the results in the Board's records, ordering the County Clerk to certify the abstract, and transmitting a report of the abstract to the Nevada Secretary of State in compliance with NRS 293.387.
