Program on historic event that left stunning butte and mesa topography of the American southwest

Event Date:
July 1, 2023 - 7:00pm

This spring we have seen flooding from a single winter of heavy snow, but what must the runoff from the Genesis flood have looked like? This Saturday evening, Bill Kolstad of Tahoe Community Church will reveal a preview of drone imagery contrasting the topography inside the Great Basin with the massive erosional features just outside the Great Basin in the Colorado River channel where 1000 vertical feet of fresh mud was washed back out to sea in 150 days!

This historic event left the stunning butte and mesa topography of the American southwest in stark contrast to the Great Basin which was left with still living 50-foot-long Ichthyosaur in the waters retained in the massive basin.

Kolstad, a "rockhound," took people from the Institute for Biblical Authority on a tour through the middle of Nevada and down into the Colorado River area where they recorded the imagery.

The 90-minute show on July 1 starts at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the Tahoe Community Church located at 145 Dagget Way off Lower Kingsbury Grade in Stateline, Nevada.

As the massive runoff flows subsided, the water level in the Colorado River channel dropped, leaving increasingly more soil around the base of features like this turbidity cone just outside Zion National Park. Imagine the one-time-only eddy current big enough to sculpt such house-size features!
