SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Join the Lake Tahoe Historial Society on Tuesday, July 5 for another one of its weekly Tahoe History Talks on the Beach. Join Master Gardener and Raconteur David Long at the event at Lakeview Commons from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
What we eat can have a good story to tell. Many of the vegetables and fruits we eat, and pretty much take for granted, have interesting histories and backstories that are not well known.
Potatoes and onions are examples of vegetables that have long histories and interesting story arcs. Potatoes are easy to grow in Tahoe and were once grown commercially in the Glenbrook area.
Join David as he shares the history of potatoes, onions, and Lake Tahoe.
The event is free. Seating will be on the lake side of the Commons on the west side (the area with more shade).
