Wylder Hotel Hope Valley hosts next Eastern Sierra history series - "Into the Jaws of Hell"

HOPE VALLEY, Calif. - On Saturday, July 9 at 2 p.m., Wylder Hotel Hope Valley will continue its Eastern Sierra history series with a 50-minute presentation, “Into the Jaws of Hell.”

Local historian and author David Woodruff recounts the dramatic and heroic tale, of how forlorn, starving and moribund argonauts found demise in the desert instead of the riches of the goldfields they had sought and christened the chilling name upon their near-fatal location, Death Valley.

The program will be at the Wylder General Store, .10 miles east of Wylder Hotel Hope Valley (formerly Sorenson's Resort) on CA Hwy 88. The program is free and open to the public. Call 760 920-8061 for more information.
