"Silent" movies and concert on the beach for Keep Tahoe Blue fundraiser

Event Date:
July 20, 2016 - 7:00pm

The beach at Lakeland Village will be the scene of the next FNCTN fundraiser to benefit Keep Tahoe Blue on Wednesday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m., and people nearby won't hear a thing!

There will be two movie screenings and a concert on the beach, all through special silent disco headphones. Guests receive a pair of Bluetooth headphones for the evening that have three separate channels. Each channel will be broadcasting movies and music at the same time, you choose your entertainment.

“At FNCTN we are always looking to fill the void in entertainment,” said Mike Peron of FNCTN. “We ask ourselves. 'What’s missing in Lake Tahoe, what would we personally want to attend, what do our friends want to attend, and how do we make it DIFFERENT than what’s been done before?' We came up with something never done before!”

The feature film for the evening will be “The Meaning of Wild,” a documentary that takes you on a journey through one of our nation’s wildest landscapes, The Tongass National Forest of Southeast Alaska. Prior to the feature screening FNCTN will highlight “One Day in Yosemite” which is described as a 14-minute human kaleidoscope told through the lenses of 30 videographers in Yosemite.

In addition to the movies listed above, guests can also enjoy music from DJ Roger That! and DJ Rizzo while they gaze upon the live outdoor artistry from the talented Will Eichelberger. A charity raffle benefitting The League to Save Lake Tahoe will also take place, so be ready to win!

The event is open to all ages and tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door with proceeds going to Keep Tahoe Blue. Discounted tickets can be purchased at www.mkt.com/FNCTN

Guests are encouraged to dress warm and bring blankets for the beach. Seating will be provided for the movie. Parking will be limited so ride your bike or park nearby.
