Tahoe History Talks at the Beach Tuesday: Donner Party's James Reed

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Local author and historian David Woodruff takes on the role of Donner Party leader and survivor James Reed at the next Tahoe History Talks on the Beach on Tuesday, July 12 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Woodruff will recount the gripping tale of the courageous and heroic efforts of Reed and others who saved the lives of 45 desperate souls during the tragic winter crossing of the Sierra Nevada in 1846-47.
The talks are held weekly through August 5 and are sponsored by the Lake Tahoe Historical Society with the support of the City of Lake Tahoe Recreation Department. They are free and open to the public and take place in the lakefront seating area of Lakeview Commons at the corner of Lake Tahoe Blvd., and Lakeview Avenue in South Lake Tahoe.
