Road closures in place near Tamarack Fire

ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. - There are road closures in place due to the Tamarack Fire currently burning near the town of Markleeville.
SR88
Closed from the junction of US305 in Mono County to the Mono/Alpine County line.
They are currently adding a closure at SR89/SR88 Woodfords Canyon to block access on SR89 south. The roads need to be kept clear for emergency personnel.
Highway 4 is not closed and is currently open west of the Highway 89 and Highway 4 junction.
The 6,600 acre Tamarack Fire burned actively through the night and has consumed 6,600 acres. The fire continues to burn in a northerly direction backing towards Highway 89 south of Markleeville towards the Carson River. The fire is 0% contained.
