Another warm week ahead for Lake Tahoe; Chance of showers/thunderstorms

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Mid-summer heat will persist across the Sierra and western Nevada for the upcoming week. Isolated thunderstorms with little or no rainfall are possible through Monday, then conditions become more favorable for thunderstorms which could produce locally heavy rainfall mainly east of Lake Tahoe for much of the week.

The forecast from the National Weather Service in Reno:

Monday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Light south wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Monday Night - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Tuesday - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Light south wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 49. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 84.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 85.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Friday - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny,
with a high near 85.

Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 50.

Saturday- Sunny, with a high near 85.

Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 49.

Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 84.
