Free all-comers track meets in South Lake Tahoe this summer

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Two all-comers, all ages, track meets are coming to South Lake Tahoe, one on Thursday, July 28, and the other on Thursday, August 11. They will take place on the South Tahoe Middle School Track.

Registration on both dates begins at 4 p.m., with the meet starting promptly at 5 p.m. The lead official for the meets is Austin Angell. There is no fee to participate! Parking is available at the middle school.

Scheduled events include the 50m, 100m, 200m 400m, 800m, and 1600m as well as the long jump.

Community members who would like to help stage the event are more than welcome.

Bring the whole family and enjoy an evening of fun activity on the track.

There is no pre-registration. The group putting on the meets is the same group that engineered the replacement of the middle school track.

Austin Agnel was the school's cross country coach for more than a quarter of a century and took them to numerous championships, and has run in the Boston and New York Marathons.
