A man was found floating by the cabins at Angora Lakes on Thursday. He was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to El Dorado County Sheriff Sergeant Fleischmann, no other details are known at this time, just that he was male and had passed. What happened, age, name and hometown are unknown.
South Tahoe Now reader Sandi Barker was at the lake late this afternoon, picking up her daughter. Emergency personnel were at the road leading to Angora Lake to keep it clear for paramedics. Barker said they let her up so she could pick up her daughter who had to get to work. She said she overheard EMT's saying the victim was in the water for over an hour but that was not verified by EDSO.
