A man working at the new Gondola Vista Estates project in South Lake Tahoe was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno via helicopter after being run over by a pickup truck Tuesday morning.
Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District (TDFPD) responded to the 7:31 a.m. on July 24 call as it was originally reported for the area behind Harrah's Tahoe, on the Nevada side. TDFPD was in process of providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) when South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue arrived. TDFPD stabilized the victim and took him to a helicopter landing area at Kahle Community Center.
According to preliminary police reports, the unidentified victim was in a ditch at the work site when a co-worker in their personal pick-up truck backed over him.
As required, South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue (SLTFR) notified Cal/OSHA.
"Safety and overall wellbeing of the development company employees is of upmost importance," said Jesse Schue of Gondola Vista Estates.
According to Schue Tuesday afternoon, their employee is expected to fully recover and be released tonight.
