South Lake Tahoe forecast: After Monday, sunny and warm

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There is a Red Flag Warning up for Lake Tahoe and Western Nevada for Monday, July 26 from 5:00 a.m. Temperatures will be near normal Tuesday as the ridge over the Desert Southwest strengthens. By Wednesday afternoon, an upper level trough will move through northern California, which will
subsequently increase winds across the region Wednesday-Thursday. Gusts do not look to be as strong as Monday, and in the 30-35 mph range. Dry conditions will
also be prevalent across much of the area by mid-week. With the increased winds and dry conditions, fire weather issues could occur Wednesday-Thursday, and possibly into Friday. No thunderstorms are expected mid-week through the weekend. Temperatures will be near normal through the end of the week, with a warm up this coming weekend, according to National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

The NWS Reno forecast for South Lake Tahoe:

Monday - A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 43. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 85. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Clear, with a low around 44. West wind 10 to 15 mph becoming light southwest after midnight.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Wednesday Night - Clear, with a low around 45.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 82.

Thursday Night - Clear, with a low around 43.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 84.

Friday Night - Clear, with a low around 42.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 85.

Saturday Night - Clear, with a low around 44.
