South Lake Tahoe fireworks show set for Labor Day weekend

Yet another reason Lake Tahoe was ranked as America's Best Lake by readers of USA Today:
Lights on the Lake and the Labor Day Lights Extravaganza, of course.
Tahoe South's famed "Lights on the Lake" Fourth of July, is an eye and sky candy light show over Lake Tahoe that continues to generate international buzz, with the latest accolades coming from The Discovery Channel and Bing.com/MSN.

Bing.com's new travel section powered by MSN, recognized Tahoe's synchronized music and light firework display as No. 9 in the world, along with Paris, Sydney and Hong Kong. The Discovery Channel's Top 6 places in the U.S. to watch July 4 fireworks displays, include "Lights on the Lake." The latest plaudits add to a growing list that also includes notables from NBC's Today Show, USA Today, Travel & Leisure and ForbesTraveler.com.
The next round of fireworks is set for Sunday, Sept. 2, with the Labor Day Weekend Fireworks Extravaganza. This pyrotechnic exhibition explodes over Lake Tahoe after dusk and features a variety of patterns, shapes and designs.
The show features a simultaneous music broadcast that can be heard on local stations KRLT-FM 93.9 and KOWL - AM 1490. The show begins approximately 8:30 p.m.
Before the fireworks show, head over to Sample the Sierra to sample the region's best food, wine, and art in the Sierra Nevada. The 3rd annual Sample the Sierra farm-to-fork festival will take place on Sunday, Sept. 2 on Ski Run Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe.
This year, 15 local restaurants and farmers will be paired together to produce mouthwatering samples for festival-goers to enjoy. Each food sample will be paired with an accompanying wine, also local to the region.
