Tahoe History Talks on the Beach - Daring and Dangerous Donner Summit

Event Date:
August 9, 2022 - 7:00pm

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is hosting another "Tahoe History Talks on the Beach" on Tuesday, August 9. Learn about the "Daring and Dangerous Donner Summit" from historian and author David Woodruff.

Woodruff recounts the interesting and often amusing tales that have helped shape the human history of Donner Summit, one of America's most popular mountain corridors. From the Chinese immigrants who labored heroically to build the first Transcontinental Railroad to the enthusiastic citizens who cleared the winters snows from roads by hand in a "Snow Shoveling Bee," the improbably stories of grit, foresight, and determination along this Alpine highway.

The event is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the beach side at Lakeview Commons,

1004 Lakeview Avenue, South Lake Tahoe.
