Local youth ages 5-19 can participate in 4-H virtual projects

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - Head, Heart, Hands, Health. The 4-H Youth Development Program offers many fun and educational activities for its members and it is now available for youth in the South Lake Tahoe area.

The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Central Sierra servers Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, and Tuolumne counties and 4-H is one of their programs. 4-H is America’s largest youth development organization empowering youth to learn skills that will stay with them for a lifetime. They offer educational learning experiences where young people (ages 5 years to 19 years old) can learn by doing.

To help youth and teens continue learning during these times of COVID, the UCCE 4-H Program representatives have put together a seven-art multi-county virtual 4-H project series.

Using 4-H curriculum, the following projects will be offered starting in late August, September, and October:
Beginning 4-H
Cooking 101
Food Preservation
Mindful Health
Experiencing Mindfulness
Money Talks
Outdoor Adventures.

Money Talks starts first on August 17. There is a one-time fee required for enrollment in unlimited projects during the July 2020-June 2021 program year. To learn more about the projects, start and end dates, and how to enroll please visit http://ucanr.edu/csvirtualprojects.
