DCSO investigating third-party report that there would be a shooting at Douglas High Monday

Monday morning update: Douglas High School is opening today and there will be extra DCSO patrols around campus.
In a message to parents, DCSD Superintendent Keith Lewis said said the school's resource officers and DCSO Sheriff Dan Coverly are investigating a third-party report that an individual was told not to attend the first day of school due to a planned school shooting.
If students choose not to attend school due to this situation, their attendance will be excused.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - The Douglas County School District (DCSD) was informed Sunday evening that threats had been made against Douglas High School and the sheriff's office was investigating them.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) does not know at this time if the threats are credible but out of an abundance of caution, DCSD informed parents of the situation.
DCSD Superintendent Keith Lewis will provide an update to parents by 6:45 a.m. Monday, the first day of school. DCSO said they will provide extra patrols at school Monday.
