Updated information for El Dorado Community Foundation's Caldor Fire relief fund

Due to the overwhelming response to the requests for the Caldor Fire Fund relief, the El Dorado Community Foundation (EDCF) updated the link for applications and updated the parameters for those needing assistance.

The Caldor Fire Relief Fund was set up on August 17, 2021, in response to the wildfire that began near Omo Ranch. This fund was created to help with immediate relief needs for El Dorado County community members directly impacted by the fire. So far, they have given out over $100,000 to over 500 families in need of assistance. The Foundation is receiving about 250 applications every 24 hours.

The donation link remains the same for people wishing to donate to this effort https://edcf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create?funit_id=1792.

DESCRIPTION
This is an updated application set up to make it easier for us to process. Please answer all questions carefully and accurately

They will be distributing emergency funding with the following criteria:

Up to $550 for emergency relief (food, medication, pet food, other basic NON-PERMANENT HOUSING needs - temporary housing like hotel costs are part of this section)

Once your application has been approved (you will receive an email from EDCF), we will be arranging 2-3 days each week (specific days and specific time windows to follow) for individuals to go to the El Dorado Community Foundation office to pick up relief checks. You will be required to show proof of identification to receive your check and will be required to sign for the release of the check. They will be sharing this data with the American Red Cross to help prevent duplication of relief aid.
