Labor Day Weekend at Lake Tahoe: Cooling temperatures, chance of rain

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Typical late-August warmth and dry weather with breezy afternoon winds will linger into the upcoming week at Lake Tahoe. A series of low-pressure systems will promote periods of elevated to briefly critical fire weather conditions in Northern Nevada on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon as winds strengthen. Mild temperatures and gusty winds, with chances of showers and storms, and dropping temperatures at the lake becoming more likely for Labor Day weekend.

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind, becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night - Clear, with a low of around 49. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 80. West wind 5 to 15 mph.

Tuesday Night - Clear, with a low of around 45. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east after midnight.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 81. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 46.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 78.
