Douglas County is hosting one of two annual citizens’ roundtable discussions on September 19, 2017 at the TRE Community Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The discussions will include an overview of county projects and activities contained in the plan and give citizens an opportunity to learn more about specific projects in which they have an interest. County staff will engage citizens in an activity to help plan for next year’s budget priorities. Results of the session will be shared with the Board of Commissioners at a November meeting. The county is offering free pizza and refreshments to attendees, while supplies last.
“Although work on the plan just started in July, we need to gather information on what existing projects and activities should be funding priorities for next year,” said Economic Vitality Manager, Lisa Granahan. “Come learn, and share your priorities. This is really an opportunity for citizens to let us know about concerns specific to their area.”
The Strategic Plan is a dynamic document that serves as a road map for how staff will implement the Board of County Commissioners' Vision, Mission and Objectives. The plan was approved on June 1, 2017 and can be viewed at http://bit.ly/2vmvrwT
The County will host another roundtable in the spring at a different location in Douglas County.
