Lake Valley firefighter in stable condition after falling from fire truck

On Sunday, August 27, a Lake Valley Fire Protection District crew responded to a traffic collision on Highway 50 near Twin Bridges, west of Lake Tahoe.
At 3:15 p.m., as the crew headed eastbound back to their station in Meyers, a firefighter was ejected from the vehicle. According to the report, a Blue Sheet, the vehicle was going around "a sweeping left-hand curve" near the Rock Crusher area when the incident occurred.
"The front passenger apparatus door opened," the report said, allowing the unbuckled firefighter to fall out. The unidentified person was flown to Renown Medical Center and was in stable condition at the writing of the Blue Sheet. He is expected to be discharged on Wednesday.
