Kudos: Rasmussen Family and Friends host B&B Adopt A Day of Nourishment

Serving a hot, nutritious dinner every Monday to the 80-90 individuals who attend the Bread & Broth (B&B) meal at St. Theresa’s Grace Hall requires the combined efforts of over 25 volunteers weekly. In addition to the regular B&B volunteers, B&B’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment crew members play an integral part in making the dinner service come together.

On Monday, August 29, the Rasmussen Family and Friends sponsored the Adopt A Day of Nourishment. Joining Kurt and Laura Rasmussen were cousin Deb Holland and friends Debbie Noorda and Mark Bauer. Not only did this enthusiastic crew arrive early but were the last volunteers to leave at the end of the dinner’s setup, serving, and cleanup shift! Kudos to this hard-working AAD crew.

“It was a pleasure working alongside the dedicated B&B crew,” shared Laura. “We served a wonderful, nutritious meal to the polite folks who came for dinner.”

Thanks to their $300 donation and lamb cuts generously donated by the Chart House, the evening’s dinner guests enjoyed a delicious meal of roasted lamb, green bean/red pepper medley, au gratin potatoes, green salad, and desserts prepared by B&B’s talented cook staff.

In the past, the Rasmussen’s have generously sponsored Adopt A Days through their business Sunbeam Blinds Company but wanted to support Bread & Broth as a family and a way to include family and friends in the experience. “It is a privilege for us to offer some support to B&B’s mission to ease food insecurity in our community,” added Laura. "Thank you for the opportunity.”
