Kudos: Lake Tahoe Golf Course collects broken golf clubs and grips for the visually impaired

A special thank you to the staff at Lake Tahoe Golf Course for collecting broken clubs and grips that will be used when teaching visually impaired youth.
Supply issues have left some blind and visually impaired students without white canes to practice mobility skills to travel safely and independently. Traditional white canes can be lost or broken easily as students are learning this important skill. Golf club shafts are the perfect temporary substitute to keep lessons on track until a new cane arrives.
LTGC staff provided clubs and grips to Leslie Edmonds, a teacher of the visually impaired, based in Lake Tahoe. Modified golf clubs have been shared across western states and will be sent overseas to countries really feeling the effects of proper canes not being available or affordable.
The golf clubs meet the need and keep cane skill lessons going for impacted youth. A golfer's loss is a visually impaired or blind child's gain.
