Top comedy continues with Tosh, Titus at Tahoe's MontBleu Resort

WARNING: Audiences are to be advised of potential health concerns: vein-popping hilarity, oxygen deprivation and side-splitting laughter are in store this fall as MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa at Lake Tahoe continues to offer an impressive line-up of comedians including Daniel Tosh, Christopher Titus and 36th Annual San Francisco Comedy Competition.

The preliminary round of the 36th annual San Francisco International Comedy Festival returns, Saturday, Sept. 17. This year’s host is Dave Burleigh, a master impressionist and an arsenal of spot-on celebrity impersonations. Burleigh has performed on stage with some of comedy’s biggest stars including Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Tim Allen and George Lopez.

Tahoe’s elimination competition will feature a dozen finalists who make it through qualifying rounds of hundreds earlier in the week at various Northern California venues. Comics have 5-7 minute to woo the audience and judges. The final round of competition is Oct. 6-9. Click here for details. Contestants from past years include Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Dane Cook, Dana Carvey, Roseanne Barr, Mark Curry and represent the pedigree of hot, national comedy club talent.

Is it possible that Christopher Titus is the greatest working comic of our time? He’ll take the stage, November 5, employing what he’s labeled “hard funny,” dark humor. Titus has released four albums since 2007 and has three specials currently running on Comedy Central. His show ‘Titus’ earned a Writer’s Guild nomination as well as an Emmy nomination, and Newsday called him “TV’s most original voice since Seinfeld.”

Titus’ newest one-man show, “Love Is Evol,” deconstructs relationships in a way no comic has ever attempted. Titus wades into domestic violence, plastic surgery, custody and all aspects of the nightmare relationships that made him question the existence of God. Then, his new girlfriend helped him reconfirm it. Titus claims that “this show will either fix your relationship or destroy it, and either way, you’re welcome. If my comedy ends your relationship, then it needed to end.”

Daniel Tosh, stand-up comedian and television host of the Comedy Central video clip show, Tosh.0, will make his inaugural Lake Tahoe appearance, December 17. Tosh.0 premiered June 2009 and averaged 2.2 million viewers, featuring an array of video clips of unintelligent individuals who are attempting a new trick, displaying their ninja skills, revelry at its best, web redemptions - where Tosh provides them a second chance to explain their actions and anything absurd.

Tosh pushes the envelope with mocking humor that has him defending his non-politically correct comedy by saying, “I’m not a misogynistic and racist person...but I do find those jokes funny, so I say them.”

MontBleu’s upcoming lineup continues a bold trend as past performers at the resort included Sarah Silverman, Seth Meyers, Jo Koy, Nick Cannon and Comedians of Chelsea Lately.
