ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. - Celebrate Alpine County during events this fall in Markleeville. Two events are on September 16 with others on October 8 and October 14.

Mark your calendars for a celebration of creativity and community at the "Market in Markleeville" arts and crafts market operated by Sierra Chef. This vibrant event will be held on September 16 and October 14, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the charming downtown Markleeville on Montgomery Street.

The market features talented local artists, crafters, producers, growers, and non-profit organizations in one place. The market offers an opportunity for attendees to engage with a diverse array of artistic expressions, discover unique handcrafted treasures, and support the thriving arts community.

There will also be a Chili Cookoff fundraiser benefitting Alpine kids! Head out to the Markleeville Library and enjoy the Chili and Salsa Cookoff on Sunday, October 8 (the original day of September 16 has been postponed). It is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Attendees can sample a myriad of chili and salsa recipes and vote for their favorites. There will be local arts and crafts booths to explore as well.
