Innovative Housing Solution webinar with plan updates

A public webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 5 p.m. that will explain affordable housing solutions in the Lake Tahoe region. Learn how policy amendments can make a difference while preserving our environment.

Lake Tahoe’s affordable housing crisis is growing despite increased public financing, land donations, and subsidies. The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) and housing partners in the basin are working to ensure affordable housing solutions can come from many directions.

The agency is drafting policy amendments that would encourage private property owners and builders to contribute to the solutions while maintaining high environmental standards and continuing improvements to Lake Tahoe’s water quality.

This public webinar will cover possible changes to TRPA height, units per parcel (density), and land coverage policies that would be available only for projects that are providing deed-restricted affordable, moderate, and achievable housing.
