South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue incidents for week

This is a new feature on South Tahoe Now. We will be posting the calls received each week by South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue. If an incident is serious we will continue to write a story as it happens.

September 23, 2015: 13 calls received by South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue: 8 EMS calls, 1 interfacility transfer, 1 no incident found, 1 malicious false alarm, 1 cooking fire confined to container, 1 forest/woods/wildland fire in 3700 block of Lucinda Ct.

September 24, 2015: 10 calls: 9 EMS calls, 1 no incident found upon arrival.

September 25, 2015: 9 calls: 6 EMS calls, 1 no incident found upon arrival, 1 no incident found upon arrival.

September 26, 2015: 7 calls: 3 EMS calls, 1 cooking fire, 1 EMS interfacility psych transfer, 1 vehicle accident with injuries, 1 cancelled en route.

September 27, 2015: 8 calls: 2 EMS calls, 1 service call, 1 public assistance, 1 building fire, 1 vehicle accident with no injuries, 1 smoke scare/ odor of smoke, 1 "good intent" calls.

September 28, 2015: 9 calls: 5 EMS calls, 3 interfacility transfers, and 1 cancelled en route.

September 29, 2015: 7 calls: 3 EMS calls, 1 cooking fire confined to container, 1 cancelled en route, 1 service call, 1 public assistance, 1 building fire, 1 EMS transfer for psych

September 29, 2015: 9 calls: 4 EMS calls, 1 public service assistance, 2 fire alarms sounded-no fire and accidental, 1 cancelled en route, 1 interfacility transfer.

September 30, 2015: 9 calls: 4 EMS calls, 1 interfacility transfer, 1 cancelled en route, 1 arrived and no incident found, 1 cooking fire that was confined to container, 1 call unauthorized burning.

Calls of Note:

On Sept 26 at 10:27 a.m., SLT Fire Rescue responded to a call of a vehicle verses motorcycle accident in the east bound lane of Highway 50 in front of Safeway. The motorcyclist was transported to Barton via ambulance with non-life threatening injuries, and their motorcycle suffered major damage. The car also sustained some damage and the driver was not injured.

On Sept. 29 at 12:08 a.m., SLT Fire Rescue responded to the call of a grass fire. A SLT police officer was first on the scene and able to put the fire out with the extinguisher they carry in their vehicle. When SLT Fire arrived 3 minutes after the calls, they found that a small fire had started adjacent to an unoccupied home. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Since the reported fire is in a neighbor of dense structures, nine vehicles responded including 2 medics, 2 engines, 2 battalion. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

On Sept. 30 at 9:42 p.m, SLT Fire Rescue responded to the call of an illegal bonfire. One engine went out on a Code 2 and found a resident burning slash. He was informed it is currently illegal in the city limits.
