Basic Vehicle Maintenance 101 taught at LTCC this month

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A hands-on vehicle maintenance class is being held through Lake Tahoe Community College's Connect program on Saturday, October 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The class is being taught by John Gomez of Tahoe Driving Academy and will provide students with the ability to learn on their own cars, something unique to vehicle maintenance classes. Gomez plans on taking participants to the parking lot during the workshop so they can learn on the spot on their own vehicle.

This is perfect timing for car owners to ensure their cars are "winter-ready" for the upcoming snow season. 101 is a high-level overview and hands-on workshop designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills to keep their vehicles running smoothly and efficiently. Whether you are a first-time car owner or someone looking to improve your automotive know-how, this workshop offers an ideal starting point.

Throughout this engaging workshop, participants will understand the basics of how a car works, how to maintain your car's vital fluids (oil, radiator, battery, windshield washer), how to change a tire, and lastly, how to check tire pressure and treads.
