Woman killed in El Dorado County homicide was South Lake Tahoe native, STHS grad

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - On Thursday, October 5 at 6:34 p.m., the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) responded to Prado Vista Lane in Placerville for a report of a stabbing that had occurred. When deputies arrived, they located a female who was deceased in a residence.

At a neighboring residence, a male was located suffering from traumatic wounds. The male was transported to an area hospital.

The victim of the homicide has been positively identified by EDSO coroner detectives as 36-year-old Cristina Lee Humlick of Prado Vista Court, Placerville. She grew up in South Lake Tahoe and was a member of the South Tahoe High Class of 2005.

"She was fiercely loved by my generation in this community," said a 2005 classmate of hers.

According to EDSO, the associated male remains in stable condition.

"There are no outstanding persons of interest and no threat to the community. Due to the nature of the investigation, there is no further information that can be provided at this time. As more information becomes available an update will be provided," said the sheriff's office on social media.
