WWII Veteran Garfield Ware to be honored in South Lake Tahoe ceremony

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - World War II Veteran Garfield Ware will be honored for his service on Wednesday, October 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Revive Coffee & Wine on Harrison Avenue in South Lake Tahoe.

The 98-year-old Ware was with the U.S. Navy and is a Pearl Harbor survivor.

The event is being organized by the Lake Tahoe Veteran's Alliance and will include presenters Dan Browne, president of the Lake Tahoe Veteran's Alliance, South Lake Tahoe Mayor Tamara Wallace, El Dorado County Supervisor Sue Novasel and Veteran Greg Holt, Congressman Tom McClintock's deputy director of Constituent Services.

The community is invited. Some limited refreshments will be served.
