Wind advisory in place for Lake Tahoe; Cooling with lows into 20s

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe, which is in effect until noon today. Winds: East to northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph this morning. Expect waves from two-four feet from mid-lake to western shores. Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.

It will remain windy until mid-week.

A series of mainly dry cold fronts will provide periods of gusty winds and cool downs this week. Temperatures will remain below average today before warming on Tuesday as westerly breezes increase. Temperatures will begin cooling again Wednesday, with another front late week bringing additional cooling and a chance

of showers north of Interstate 80.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 58. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 24.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 54.

Thursday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 53.

Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 22.
