2017 sexual assault suspect found in Mexico, extradited to Douglas County with $1,000,000 bail

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - In February 2017, a man by the name of Ricardo Serrano-Perez was identified as a suspect in the sexual assault of a minor in Douglas County, Nev. During the investigation, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) felt there was strong enough evidence to arrest Serrano-Perez as a suspect. He fled to Mexico. Between 2017 and 2023, legal efforts were made by the Douglas County District Attorney's office to extradite the suspect from Mexico back to Nevada.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) has been able to extradite Ricardo Serrano-Perez from Mexico, and on October 9, Ricardo Serrano-Perez was booked into the Douglas County Jail on the charge of Sexual Assault of a Minor.

The suspect is currently in the Douglas County Jail with a bail of $1,000,000.
