Sugar Pines Foundation holding tree plantings this fall - 27,000 trees to get into the ground

Join the Sugar Pine Foundation as they get ready to begin a record-breaking planting season this weekend. They will be planting over 27,000 trees this fall and need volunteers.

South Shore Planting

TRUCKEE RIVER DAY!

Come help plant sugar pines to restore forest diversity at Truckee River Day! Please register for this event at the Truckee River Watershed Council's website and choose our Tree Planting project. Join us for FREE family fun and educational games at the River Fair at Granite Flat Campground afterwards from 1-4pm.

Help the Alpine Watershed Council and the US Forest Service plant 720 Jeffrey pines in the Tamarack Fire scar.

Tahoe Vista Planting

Come plant sugar pine seedlings with the North Tahoe High School Interact Club and other community volunteers at North Tahoe Regional Park! Park and meet on Donner Road between the baseball field and the first restroom.

Truckee Community Planting

Meet us at the pull-out where Soda Springs Road turns into a dirt road. We will be driving down the dirt road for about 10 minutes to the planting site. Eagle Scout Liz Myers from Reno is going to lead this planting with us.

Tamarack Fire Planting

Caldor Fire Planting
Saturday, October 28

Leoni Rd, near Caldor, CA
GPS coordinates for parking area: 38°36'35.1"N 120°27'44.9"W

Join Rotary Club and Scouts of America volunteers to reforest along Leoni Road near where the Caldor Fire started in Caldor, Calif.

As always, seedlings, shovels, gloves, and planting instructions will be provided. Please bring appropriate layers, sun protection, closed-toe footwear, water and snacks.

All events are open to volunteers of all ages - a.k.a. bring the kids!

Please wear sun protection, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Bring a water bottle and snacks. Seedlings, tools, gloves, and planting instructions will be provided.
