South Lake Tahoe City Manager Joe Irvin installs Aktion Club officers

South Lake Tahoe City Manager Joe Irvin recently installed the 2022-2023 officers of the Kiwanis Aktion Club of Lake Tahoe, the only community service group open to all adults living with disabilities.

More than anything, people living with disabilities want to be treated like everyone else. They want to show they have value and to give back to the community through service. Aktion Club empowers members to be themselves, work together with friends and implement plans through action.

Newly installed officers just returned from a weekend conference at the Wonder Valley Ranch in Sanger, Calif. While there, members had the opportunity to use their leadership skills, participate in service projects and learn about new ideas for future projects. Nick Fiegel entered the speech contest and brought home the first-place award.

Aktion Club meets at 3 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the South Lake Tahoe Library. For more information about Aktion Club, please contact Marie Foster at 530-318-9197. Visit the Aktion Club of Lake Tahoe on Facebook.
