Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids creates one-way texting network for parents and the community

The Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids (TASK) is a local coalition created to address issues facing students, parents, and families in the community and schools.

One strategy, the Parent Group Texting Network (PGTN), is a one-way texting system that provides parents with the most comprehensive and timely information about substances being introduced in their youngsters' lives every day.

The idea is simple: The more educated parents are about substances their children are seeing in their day-to-day lives, the more prepared they will be to have direct conversations, the more prepared they will be to be parents.

Parents are a key to holding kids accountable. Nothing is more effective in a family than parents armed with facts.

If you are interested in being added to the PGTN, please sign up by texting STDFC to 888777 to register.
