North Lake Tahoe project update for SR28

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. – Caltrans is advising motorists of continued traffic-interfering work on State Route 28 (SR-28) between Kings Beach and Tahoe City along the north shore of Lake Tahoe next week.

Southwest Gas and its contractor, Q&D Construction, will continue to work on a gas line replacement project on Highway 28 between Tahoe City and Kings Beach.

Southwest Gas has received a grading exemption from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency for Q&D to continue earth-disturbing work beyond October 15. Work will continue as long as the weather allows.

- One-way traffic control is scheduled between Rocky Ridge Road and Sierra Terrace Road on Monday, October 30 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- One-way traffic control is scheduled between Agate Road and Onyx Street from Monday, October 30 at 7 a.m. until Thursday, November 2 at 7 p.m. and on Friday, November 3 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. No work is scheduled between 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. or on Saturday and Sunday.

Motorists could encounter delays of up to 15 minutes. All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends. Schedules are subject to change due to weather, equipment or material availability or other unexpected events.
