POSTPONED - Fireside Chat to feature Lake Tahoe: A Rephotographic History, 1860-1960

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Join the Lake Tahoe Historical Society for their last Fireside Chat of 2022 on Tuesday, November 8 in the Camp Richardson Hotel lobby. Take a break from election returns and join them from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. when Professor Peter Goin presents Lake Tahoe: A Rephotographic History, 1860-1960.

Goin will present an engaging retrospective of archived photos highlighting a key period of Lake Tahoe's history. Goin, who is a Foundation Professor of Art at the University of Nevada Reno, will reinforce the idea of Lake Tahoe as a barometer of environmental health.

Goin is the author of several books including Stopping Time: A Rephotographic Survey of Lake Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe: Then & Now, Lake Tahoe: A Maritime History, and Emerald Bay and Desolation Wilderness.

The Fireside Chat is also the annual membership and election meeting for the Historical Society, and they will conduct a few minutes of business. Annual memberships for 2023 will be sold, starting at $20 for seniors and $25 for single, $40 for families.

Camp Richardson Hotel is located at 1900 Jamison Beach Road just off SR89. Arrive early for good seating. Refreshments will be provided.
