Local scholarships open up for South Lake Tahoe seniors

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Scholarship season is here! Seniors from South Tahoe High School (STHS) and all other El Dorado County schools who are interested in finding scholarships to help with the costs of higher education are welcome and encouraged to start applying. Check out the https://scholarships.edcoe.org/ website to see hundreds of local scholarships designed for El Dorado County seniors specifically. Scholarship applications will be accepted from hundreds of donors over the next three months, with almost all applications due on Feb. 1, 2024. These scholarship applications are for El Dorado County high school seniors to complete, starting November 1.

Thank you to the hundreds of amazing donors who have set up scholarships for the students. Last year, South Tahoe High School seniors collectively received over $330,000 in scholarships from these amazing donors. Service organizations, families, businesses, and individuals have set up scholarships for South Tahoe students...they can't be thanked enough!

Lastly, if you are interested in being part of a scholarship, the El Dorado Community Foundation (EDCF) has a new Scholarship Giving Circle set up where any individual can be part of a scholarship for an STHS (or other El Dorado County high school) senior with a donation of $40. For more details, visit https://eldoradocf.org/edcf-scholarship-giving-circle/.

Thank you to scholarship donors, and best of luck to seniors in your pursuit of higher education! If you have any questions, feel free to email Kathy Haven at kathy@eldoradocf.org or visit the STHS college and career counselor, Kim Ilvento (kilvento@ltusd.org). They would love to help our seniors out!
