SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - GIVE Tahoe is inviting all interested community members to join them on Thursday, Nov. 21 between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the GIVE Tahoe Grantee Showcase in the South Tahoe High School Library, 1735 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe.
Come by for 10 minutes or the whole time to see the great work local nonprofits are doing here on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. The 11 nonprofits showcased will be the 2024 grant recipients of GIVE Tahoe, a fund at the El Dorado Community Foundation. The recipients include the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Bread and Broth, EDSAR, Food Bank of El Dorado County, Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation, Live Violence Free, LTUSD (Tahoe Valley Elementary School), Marine Research and Education, Inc., Tahoe Art League, Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless, and Tahoe Institute of Natural Sciences (TINS). Set up as a “fair”, each organization will have a table to share their organization’s mission and the results of their grant funding from GIVE Tahoe.
Since 2007, GIVE Tahoe (formerly the South Lake Tahoe Endowment fund) has given almost $900,000 back to the South Lake Tahoe Community! The GIVE Tahoe fund came through the creation of the SLT Endowment fund by EDCF back in the early 2000s with the contribution of the legacy gift from the Joan Rochelle Endowment. Approximately $50,000 is given out annually in competitive grants to support community and educational experiences for the South Shore of Lake Tahoe organizations (nonprofits and schools.) We hope you will come to our showcase to hear more!
Light appetizers and drinks will be served to all in attendance. Come here about some of the positive and uplifting work happening in our community!
