Beloved Valhalla Renaissance Faire returns to South Lake Tahoe for an encore in 2024

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The once annual Renaissance Faire has been missing from the South Lake Tahoe landscape for a few years due to construction at its old home of the Camp Richardson campgrounds, COVID, and then epic snow in 2023.

The Enchantment of Valhalla Renaissance is set to make a triumphant return for the 2024 season. Step back in time and immerse yourself in a world of chivalry, enchantment, and merriment over the weekend of August 24-25, 2024, at the Tahoe Valley Campground.

The popular jousting event is also returning with the faire.

For close to three decades, the Valhalla Renaissance Faire had been a cherished tradition in the South Lake Tahoe community, offering families and history enthusiasts a chance to experience the grandeur and splendor of the Renaissance period. Now, the faire is back, promising a weekend of unparalleled entertainment and cultural enrichment.

The Faire sets the scene of a tiny town in Staffordshire, England, abuzz with the upcoming arrival of Queen Elizabeth and her royal procession. It will feature archery demonstrations, jousting, circus performances, magic and comedy shows, and more, among a seemingly myriad number of musical performance groups.

Embarking on an exciting new chapter, the Valhalla Renaissance Faire will come to life at its new location, the Tahoe Valley Campground. The decision to move was not made lightly, and organizers extend their heartfelt appreciation to longtime partner, Camp Richardson, who played an integral role in the event's rich history. Camp Richardson was a gracious host over the years, and they are immensely grateful for their unwavering support, said faire organizers
