Event Date:
November 12, 2020 - 12:00pm

The UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) in Incline Village is presenting another virtual seminar as part of their Fall Speaker Series on Thursday, November 12 at 12:00 p.m. The seminar will feature UC Davis researchers Katie Senft and Dr. Jenessa Gjeltema who will update participants on the latest science behind microplastics and present the research underway at Lake Tahoe to study the fate of microplastics in our freshwater system.

Discover how microplastics are studied from Lake Tahoe’s surface waters and fish, down to the deepest sediments in the lake. Learn how researchers isolate and identify the type of plastic these tiny pieces of trash originated from. Find out how you can take action to help keep microplastics out of our natural environments.
