Electrical fire damages home in South Lake Tahoe

An electrical fire at a Nottaway Drive home in South Lake Tahoe caused extensive damage to the home's kitchen as well as smoke damage to the rest of the house.

The Sunday afternoon house fire brought out a large response from Lake Valley Fire, South Lake Tahoe Police and El Dorado County Sheriffs officers.

According to Leona Allen, Lake Valley Fire Department's Press Information Officer, the exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time. She told South Tahoe Now, "we won't have a value for quite some time."

Even though damage was not visible on the outside of the home, firemen were removing burned items from the inside after the fire was extinguished.

The residents of the home were at a relative's house in town when they heard about the fire. Neighbors gathered across the street said the couple's kids stayed at the in-law's house so the parents could get home to assess the damage.
