Submitted by paula on Sat, 11/19/2016 - 6:39pm
The Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless will soon be opening their Warm Room for a second winter and they are seeking volunteers to help staff it. Last winter they provided 1,820 room nights to 107 different guests over the 102 nights they were open.
A volunteer training will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Unity at the Lake located at 1195 Rufus Allen Blvd in South Lake Tahoe. To volunteer, training is mandatory as well as a background check.
The location of this year's Warm Room has not been announced though organizers say a contract is ready to be signed.
For more information and to reserve a training spot, contact the group at contact@tahoehomeless.org.
