Minden Mill Distilling continues history series with Those That Survived, the Reed family story

Event Date:
November 26, 2023 - 1:00pm

Minden Mill Distilling continues its living history presentations on Sunday, November 26 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. This program is about Margret and James Reed, Those That Survived. Local authors and historians David & Gayle Woodruff assume the characters of James Reed and his wife Margret, who were the original organizers of the infamous Donner Party of 1846. This Chautauqua program relives the heroic efforts of James, who led fearless volunteers through that terrible Sierra winter to rescue his family and many others, and his wife Margret, who with sheer strength and determination kept their children alive.

This compelling, true story of the 45 survivors of the forlorn Donner Party and their rescuers will keep you on the edge of your seat, as it comes to life in this living history program.

Seating is limited and by reservation. Please click on this link to reserve your seat to this free program or call David at 760-920-8061 for more information.
