Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe hosting public vaccination clinic for 5-12 year olds

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - In partnership with the City of South Lake Tahoe and Barton Hospital, the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) will be hosting a vaccination clinic for children aged 5 to 12 years in the afternoon of Tuesday, November 23.
Two hundred doses are available and interested parents can sign up at https://myturn.ca.gov/. Follow the prompts to be shown available clinics with appointments.
“This clinic would not be possible without the hard work of Chief Savacool from the City and Chris Proctor from Barton Health,” said BGCLT Executive Director Jude Wood. “We are delighted to be able to partner with them and provide this service for our community.”
Vaccination is 100 percent voluntary and there is no vaccination requirement to attend BGCLT or local public schools.
The Barton doctors, and Chief Savacool and his team, are volunteering their time for this clinic, along with BGCLT staff and board members.
“Following our successful adult vaccination clinics at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center earlier in the year, we are delighted to extend this opportunity to the youth of our community,” stated Chief Savacool.
“We know that vaccination reduces the chances of catching or becoming very ill from COVID-19, and therefore Barton Hospital and staff are delighted to help 200 children take the first step towards being fully vaccinated before Santa comes down the chimney in December,” said Director of Community Benefit for Barton Hospital Chris Proctor.
Appointments are only being taken via https://myturn.ca.gov. A limited number of walking appointments will be available. Masks are mandatory for both child and accompanying parent regardless of vaccination status. The Club is simultaneously running its full-day vacation program and therefore please do not arrive until five minutes before your appointment time.
