SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - With the support and backing of the South Lake Tahoe community, Tahoe Magic has been able to help thousands of families with rental assistance in the amount of $500,000 since the onset of the pandemic.
Thank you to all who have donated to Tahoe Magic over the past 20 months.
With these donations, Tahoe Magic has assisted local families who are/were in crisis monthly since the pandemic started. Over the past three months, they have been above to give out $55,000 because of the added trauma of the Caldor Fire in El Dorado County.
The South Lake Tahoe-based non-profit has provided rental assistance in the amount of $500 per request directly to the family’s landlord, first working with referring agencies to identify families needing assistance. Tahoe Magic is a 100 percent volunteer organization, with negligible overhead, allowing all donations to go directly back to the families in crisis.
Tahoe Magic is a true representation of Tahoe’s South Shore, where we always come together in times of need to help out.
"We are so proud to be part of this amazing community that has donated more than half a million dollars to our little non-profit to help so many Tahoe families out over these past 20 months," said the organization.
Tahoe Magic will continue to support needy families with funds in the South Lake Tahoe area to help everyone recover from both the COVID crisis and the Caldor Fire evacuation trauma. In both cases, many families were displaced, lost income, and struggled to make ends meet.
"Thank you for your contribution however big or small: it has been a huge gift to families in crisis. Visit TahoeTahoemagic.org for more information. In this season of gratitude we really just want to say "THANK YOU all! We could not have done this without you," Tahoe Magic added.
