South Shore casinos didn't fare as well as the rest of the state with a 25% drop in gaming win

Nevada’s non-restricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $1,221,410,318 for the month of October 2021, a gain of 48.54 percent over the same period in 2020. On the other end of things, the South Shore Lake Tahoe casinos win was down 25.79 percent over the same period with their gaming revenue of $16,045,123, according to the State's monthly gaming revenue report Tuesday.

September's revenues at the lake were down due to the Caldor Fire evacuations, and closure of US 50. The revenue in October was almost triple that of September.

For the second consecutive month, Lake Tahoe was the only area in the state to have double-digit losses. North Lake Tahoe casinos saw a 2.86 percent drop in the "win" with their reported $2,195,533.

The "gaming win" represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.

Carson City and the Carson Valley's win was $11,507,367, up 14.33 percent from October 2020.

The big winners again were casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. Their $702,186,648 was up 86.86 percent, the second consecutive month with over 80 percent gains.

Casinos in Washoe County, including North Lake Tahoe, saw gaming-related revenue in the positive at $86,908,949, up 11.21 percent over the same month in 2020.

The State has collected $408,651,363 in percentage fees to date for the fiscal year which began July 1. This figure is 15.04 percent over the same period last year.
